We held our Annual General meeting/BBQ last
week end. Early in the year the committe passed a motion to change the
constitution to allow wives/girlfriends to join as associate members. This
amendment was ratified by the AGM and subsequently we have our first
associate committee members . A good move as this injects more life and
harmony into the association.
The duly elected committe are as follows
Pres David Arnott, Sen V/Pres Alan Ferguson ,Sec John Burton, A/Sec Ian
Butcher. Treas Harry Park
Committee Clarrie Baines, Harry Arnold, Lorraine Arnott, Eileen Park,Lynne
Ferguson.
The meeting also awarded an Honorary membership to Lt/Col Beverley Blanksby
who as one of the senior Trustees at the Shrine of Remembrance has given us
outstanding help and service in conducting our memorial services at the
Shrine and particularly for our National Reunion in 2004. Lt/Col Blanksby
who is battling with a life threatening illness was unable to meet with us
for the presentation but we received a very appreciative letter from her
saying she was quite thrilled with the honour bestowed on her
Also our Flying Shovels Anniversary Memorial service will be held at our
